Looking for something for your New Year's Eve celebration?
My young friend, Sarah, shared her recipe for a very easy, very pretty and very delicious sweet and spicy appetizer. I watched her husband make it recently and everyone at the table commented how much they enjoyed it.
Jalapeno Cranberry Spread has now become a staple at many of our get-togethers. It's great to put out when friends or family stop in and you want to serve some nibblers. Sometimes one of our adult kids will pop in for a visit and then another daughter gets word of it and over they come too. It is lots of fun but suddenly we have a house full of hungry people.
I usually have cream cheese in the fridge and keep a couple cans of cranberry sauce in the pantry. I make my own red pepper jelly but you can find it in the grocery store. The recipe uses just 1/3 of a cup so the extra is stored in the refrigerator for later.

The next time you need jalapeno peppers, pick up a few extra. Chop the peppers, measure 1/4-cup portions and store in the freezer. It is so convenient to keep a few bags on hand, ready whenever you need then.
I texted Sarah for the recipe and she was happy to share it.
