Jalapeno Cranberry Spread

Looking for something for your New Year's Eve celebration?
My young friend, Sarah, shared her recipe for a very easy, very pretty and very delicious sweet and spicy appetizer. I watched her husband make it recently and everyone at the table commented how much they enjoyed it.
I texted Sarah for the recipe and here it is.

Jalapeno Cranberry Spread

1/2 can whole cranberry sauce
1/3 cup red pepper jelly (I used Tabasco Brand)
2 Tbs. sugar

Microwave for 1 minute (or less) until sugar is dissolved 

Mix in a tablespoon of chopped cilantro (or parsley).

Pour mixture over an 8-ounce brick of cream cheese.
Top with extra cilantro and finely chopped jalapeno peppers.

Serve with  your favorite crackers

Oh my but that sounds good! We are spending New Years quietly with kids and board games and this sounds like something we'd all like.
