Spooky and Fun

read with a slow, deep, menacing accent...
Do come in my friend...

 we won't hurt you...
we p.r.o.m.i.s.e....
we love little creatures children here
so sweet we could gobble them up
we've been waiting for you
 the table is prepared...
 the grub is ready
dine upon bloodshot eyeball deviled eggs
{squiggly lines made with toothpick dipped into red food coloring}
ghastly beans of green with Hollandaise ooze
 sickening moldy popcorn
squashed squash soup a la spiderweb
{Butternut Squash Soup recipe}
hideous, bat-shaped pasta in web of cheese
 krispy head of Jack O'Lantern
frightfully, chilling skull and bones ice cubes in amber brew
 monstrous chocolate covered mummy cookies
 join the Addams family
crawl out from under yonder tree trunk
trek down horror lane in clustered group
 travel with wizard wonder-boy
beware of ghostly FBI agent demanding candy
be toted along by poised-pop-pop and gypsy mom-mom
share secret mash with ghastly grandfather

and just for fun and because your kids think you look like someone...
pretend for a day, you are
The Most Interesting Man in the World
( captions via jamie and jill)
Since I don't watch sports on tv, I was not aware of The Most Interesting Man in the World, Dos Equis Beer commercials and the meme of quotes.  Our daughters have said, Dad looks like this guy and thus John's, out of character, Halloween dress-up.  I do think he had fun playing this debonair role :)

and of course...
not forgetting our much-loved and missed, new york, grand-trick-or-treaters...
love you,

What a wonderful, wonderful fun post, Lorraine. Those kids are just so darned cute and you look like a gorgeous gypsy lady!

You handsome hubby does look like the "most interesting man in the world". lol

Do you remember the guy that did the commercials for Men's Warehouse? My husband's voice is a dead ringer for him.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend. xo Diana

What a fun post, Lorraine. You did go all out with the kids. Wonderful! You do make a beautiful Gypsy lady and your husband probably is the most interesting man in the world (sometimes. I laughed out loud at the little one with the glasses. Adorable. Glad you had a fun night. The food looks amazing. We had a fun night, too with our little grands. Deb

This post was definitely the highlight of my Monday! Really, you and your family have got to be some of the most ingenious and creative and fun people that I know!!! I love how you did this post! It should win an award and in my book, it has big time! I must admit, John fits the role well, and you, my friend, look beautiful enough to be his leading lady, with beauty and style. Your table should be in every holiday entertaining book. What a fun family you all are!
