Brownie Bites Bomb to a Brownie Triffle Recover

What to do when you have a recipe fail? My intention was to make some amazing brownie bites that our friend, Kathleen brought to our end-of-year Bible study. She told me she followed a recipe from her granddaughter and it sounded super simple. I'm not sure what went wrong but I had a problem on my hands.

This is what happened. These babies were not coming out of the pan no way, no how. I needed to think of serving this mess in a more appetizing way.

Whilst the pans soaked, I grabbed a box of pudding mix from the pantry and a container of whipped topping from the freezer.

Layering the pieces of brownie with the pudding and whipped cream made a dessert that looked intentional and much prettier! And only you and I know about the recipe fail.

Topped with little red, white and blue star sprinkles creates a patriotic themed dessert. For other holidays or occasions, sprinkle with different shapes and colors.

Chocolate Brownie Trifle

1 box of your favorite brownie mix and ingredients to prepare
1 large box of chocolate instant pudding mix and milk to prepare
1 container frozen whipped topping, thawed
sprinkles for decorating, if desired

Bake and cool brownies. Cut into bite-sized chunks.
Prepare chocolate pudding
Arrange a layer of brownie chunks on bottom of trifle bowl of individual serving cups.
Spoon on a layer of pudding
Spoon on a layer of whipped topping
Add another layer of the brownies, pudding and finishing with whipped topping.
If desired, top with decorative sprinkles.

Optional: toss in chopped Snickers or other candy bar between the two sets of layers.

Refrigerate until serving time.

Happy 4th of July!
