Think on These Things # 8 Glorious Day

In Christ Alone
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

The verse that kept going through my mind this week has been:
"He is risen! He is not here".

Praise God.

Hi LDH...

Hope your day was fabulous. I'll bet it was!

Don't know what I did to blow the photo on my entry to Think On These Things...I did something wrong after I clicked on the photo, I guess. Oh well. Next time.

Take care, and thanks so much for all your comments and visits to my blog. Susan

I so love this song, and this clip was a beautiful version of it, Lorraine. My granddaughter, Maya, has asked us to read the story of Easter to her for several days, and celebrating the risen Christ on Sunday with her was a joy. I loved the photos that you posted after this post, of Ryan's birthday on Easter and all of the family celebrating with him! So many wonderful pictures of your family!
