A St. Patrick's Day Birthday

St Patrick's Day has always been special in our family since it was also my moms birthday.

Here she is at my aunts house with friends, my dad (in white shirt) and me (in green dress).
And a few more March 17th Birthday photos from years past.
This was her 2011 birthday, the last one she celebrated before being called to heaven to meet her Savior.

I've mentioned Mommy's life-long passion for sewing.
Recently I came across this pattern for a dress she made for me.
I am wearing it in the top photo to her birthday party and also (below) to her brother's wedding that same month.
I have a sweet memory of wearing this dress.
I vividly remember, after telling my kindergarten teacher that I had forgotten my milk money, she took me by the hand to several  different classrooms to show the other teachers my fancy dress.

I love your memories from the past. The photos are fabulous and what a treasure to find the pattern your mom used for your special dress. It was lovely! My mom used to sew my clothes too. She would go to the stores to see what was in style and then find a pattern that was similar. It was a great way to dress nicely on a budget.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Blessings and love,
Debbie
