With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart: Sweet Nostalgia

Sweet Nostalgia

My Christmas trees have some new ornaments this year.
Or, rather old, vintage ornaments that once hung from the branches of the trees we knew as children.
My little white feather tree is adorned with white and gold pine cones, musical instruments and a few other baubles that I brought home from my mom's as we were emptying her home.
The family room tree now has mercury glass ornaments.
Daddy loved color and these were his favorite.
I have little white lights ~ Daddy had the large colored light bulbs.

It makes me feel happy to now have these special ornaments on my Christmas tree.

Ornaments with memories--it makes the holiday season so special

Some of those ornaments (or similar I should say) are hanging on my tree from both my husband's family and mine...they bring such warmth and cheer to our hearts to look at them and remember. And of course we have built our own memories into our ornaments --probably now also considered antiques of sorts!! Your trees and these two posts are just shiningly gorgeous! I know you are enjoying sitting back now and looking!

I have a few of the same ornaments passed down from my mom & dad. I love them, too. Some are identical to yours. It really adds to the memories of Christmas when you can look at these every day in all their splendor. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

I remember ornaments like several of these from our family tree when I was young. We kept them for years until they either broke or were lost in the shuffle of moving. Yours are just beautiful, something to really treasure.
Blessings~

Such lovely ornaments - I love the old ones best, they just have such a lovely patina, and of course are steeped in memories.

After seeing this post, I've been inspired to make more of your German stars - so pretty, and kitten proof, too!

As a vintage kind of gal, I looked high and low this year for some old mercury glass ornaments, aiming to fill a glass cookie jar with them, but I lucked out. Yours are just stunning!

I love the ornaments. They remind me of the ornaments my hubby had hanging on his family tree that are sadly now gone. When his stepmother moved across the country she took all the ornaments with her! Wonderful memories you're having looking at them! Enjoy your day!

What pretty ornaments and how nice to have them hanging on your tree this year. Some of those in the last picture remind me of ones we had when I was little. My brother has all my dads old Christmas decorations but I have the memories that went along with them :)

I too love those old-fashioned ornaments. They bring back fond memories.

Oh, those ornaments bring back memories to me, too. I think we had the same ones! Somewhere through the years, when my parents moved from place to place, many items got misplaced or tossed...which makes me sad when it comes to lovely Christmas ornaments, etc. Yours are beautiful!
