Lavender Lemonade

lavender gathered from the garden
 Lavender Lemonade
Recipe source: Taste of Home
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers (I used lavender from last years harvest)
2 1/2 cups cold water
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
Ice cubes

Directions
In a large saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Remove from the heat; add lavender. Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
Strain, discarding lavender. Stir in cold water and lemon juice. Serve over ice. Yield: 6 servings.
Note: If using lavender from the garden, make sure it hasn’t been treated with chemicals.
such sweet prose
I am not sure why this verse came to  mind for this photo.
Maybe because the flower seems to be reaching upward... heavenward.

Delightfully beautiful photos, Lorraine. I can't think of anything more refreshing! I have one tiny lavender plant that I bought since we moved in. I put it just beneath the window where I can enjoy the fragrance.

Such a sweet peaceful post! I just planted 5 lavender plants. I love Lavender Lemonade and I can't wait to make some. I had lavender in my garden before......but it died off. Couldn't wait to get some more planted. I love the smell! Have a great weekend:)

Not only does this sound lovely, but it looks lovely from your photographs! Psalm 121:1-2 is a favorite of mine, and the photo of the lavender fits so well as it reaches up. Have you thought about selling your photos on your Etsy shop?

I would never have thought to put lavender in lemonade or that it would make a refreshing beverage!
I love the verse and lavender is lovely. I have some in a pot on the deck :)

Wonderfully simple recipe...thanks for sharing. Your photographs and presentation are beautiful, but what touched me the most were your Scripture verse. Lovely.
