Cambrie In Mom-Mom's Dress

While watching our sweet, baby granddaughter, Cambrie the other day, I dressed her in the Christening dress that belonged to me. Then I made a picture to look like an old cabinet photo.
Irresistibly hug-able, this little one is 6 weeks old already!
Here I am wearing the dress as my Godmother holds me in the bright sun.

I am participating in Sepia Scenes for the first time with the photos below. They were take in low light and because of the surrounding color and lighting they appear sepia.

Sweet Gifts and Blogging Friends

Last week I was so delighted to received not just one, but TWO packages in the mail. Sandy of Quill Cottage had the sweetest What's In The Boxes Guessing Game? giveaway. These are the beautiful items she made and sent to me (twice since the first package she sent never arrived and is probably floating about in the postal abyss). Click on the picture to enlarge so you can see just how pretty and lovely each delicate item is.

My dear blogging friend, Dallas of Abounding Treasures
sent me a wonderful CD titled

*From Adullam*

filled with songs by her husband.
It is a beautiful collection of God-honoring music.

Meg of Mega*Crafty was so sweet and thoughtful to give me an award.
I was one of the people she said would be genuinely surprised to get this award as I did not know she read my blog. But I am so glad I know her now! She has a lovely blog and shares lots of projects and crafts she is working on.

Thank You, Dear Meg!

Meg says this award represents
great attitude or gratitudeWell that describes just about every blog I visit and why I love blogging so much.
This award is for each of YOU as well!

Outdoor Wednesday and The One I Hold On To

It is not under the sharpest, but the longest trials, that we are
most in danger of fainting.
~Andrew Fuller~

After hearing a touching song sung by someone in church this past Sunday I searched the web so I could hear it again.

It is called

I'd Need A Savior
by: Among The Thirsty
From the album Wonder

How many names can I use to explain the love of my Jesus,
the life that he gave and so many times will I praise you today.
I lift up my life ‘cause you’re always the same
And my offering to you I bring

Chorus:
Your name is Jesus. Your name is Jesus.
You’re the Wonderful, Counselor, my Friend.
You’re what I hold on to; I know that you brought me through
All the days of loss, to the cross you knew
I’d need a Savior.

How many songs can I sing to proclaim your wondrous love and beauty so great?
What would I say if you brought down the rain and everyday
I walk through the pain my heart would still say…

Chorus:

You’re what I hold on to; I know that you brought me through
All the days of loss, to the cross you knew
I’d need a Savior.
I’d need a Savior
I need you, Savior

TWD ~ Chocolate Oatmeal Almost-Candy Bars

I could only have a sniff of these little beauties because they are mighty rich in all things high calorie ~ but they are mighty good! I didn't think they were too candy-like but quite capable of satisfying a craving. I halved the recipe, omitted the raisins and tossed in about a 1/3 of a cup of coconut.
If I didn't have the accountability of my fellow challengers, I would be seriously tempted to overindulge with these!
Dorie prefers serving cold or even frozen. We sampled at room temp. I love the oatmeal and chocolate and thought they were just perfect. But off to the freezer they go. I will be serving them Wednesday evening at Bible Study along with a lighter dessert for those more resolved folk.

Great pick from Lillian of Confectiona’s Realm. She will have the recipe posted at her place.
