Winter White, Christmas Home Tour & Christmas Tree Party

Joining several parties in one post!
The first one is Kathleen's Winter White Event Celebrations @Cuisine Kathleen!

Finding white isn't hard in my home :)
This tiny Nativity was a gift to Abbey from her Sunday School teacher (who happens to be one of  my dearest friends)  when she was just 3 years old. The tallest figure stands just over 3-inches tall.

Our Christmas tree is decorated simply with white lights, some crystal icicles and figurines of angels holding baby Jesus, each one inscribed with one of His names.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Beneath the tree is a Christmas Village that I painted many years ago to go with a train set that is the delight of our grandchildren

My white feather tree is in the dining room
 at night
A sparkly silver tree sits on the kitchen counter
 trees on the front porch

A cherished painting by Jill
 A counted cross-stitch
A Nativity pyramid, our mantle and my favorite Christmas movie

You have such a beautiful home and such a wonderful way of capturing that beauty in your photographs.

I was reading your blog earlier today (during lunch) and then as I went to log off I saw that you had posted again so I popped over....so glad I did.

Your baby Jesus tree just about did me in. I was getting a reality check as I read through your earlier posts....the live nativity, the handmade (with love) gifts and pizzelles, the sweet treasures that bring back Christmas memories and family, famil, family! When I saw the tree I teared up and thought (in my overloaded mind) "what is going on this year?"

Here I am contemplating my upteenth trip to the store and then returning to the mad house that is my life right now. I'm trying to do so much with more people and less space. It's frustrating and I'm allowing that to get in the way of the "reason for the season".

Thanks for the pause that refreshing...a moment to re-focus on what it truly is all about!

I love your blog Lorraine and I have grown to love you and your family too!!

Have a wonderful evening....time for me to head home from work. I think I'll skip the store and go straight home and make cookies with Charlotte! : )

My goodness, you certainly have a lot of wonderful decorations. The feather tree at night is simply lovely. I've always wanted a feather tree. Maybe I'll treat myself sometime.
