Mosaic Monday ~ Garage Sale Finds

Bright sun, cooler temperatures and lots of garage sales is how we enjoyed our Saturday morning.
I know God fills all my days with blessings but every once in a while he sets aside a special treat that I know is just for me.
A couple of weeks ago I saw on a blog a recipe for shortbread cookies that were made using a shortbread pan.  I thought they were so pretty that I checked e-Bay and on-line stores thinking how much I would like to have one.  Amazon currently has one listed for $34.50 and I thought that was too much to spend on something I didn't really need.  How excited I was to find a brand new shortbread pan at a garage sale for a whopping two dollars!
I think it was sitting there just waiting for me to find it!
How about some new CD's @25 cents each.
And, a new radio/CD player for $10.00 (the seller was firm at $10.00)
A beautiful mirror for $7.00.
Two bags of potting soil for my needy African Violet's
A immersible blender so I don't almost explode my old blender when pureeing hot soup
A tiny little chopper for quick work in the kitchen (still looking for a full size food processor)
A book that I have been thinking about rereading. (last read The Hobbit in high school)
A brand new, very heavy cast iron pot from a lady that begins every recipe with a stick of butter and says 'oil' differently than I do.
All for a fraction of the original cost.
It felt like Christmas
Joining Mary @Little Red House for Mosaic Monday!

I love the shortbread pan. You really got a bargain. I have one of those handy choppers and I love it. Can't believe you even got Paula's pans - I think I say Ouioul (oil) just like she does! ha
I bet it does feel like Christmas with the wonderful purchases you made - way to go!

OMGoodness! I adore the shortbread pan (w/the cute little recipe book attached). All your garage sale finds must have made your whole weekend because each of these are wonderful. Gorgeous photos as always =).

I did it again-Clicked off before my post had gone all the way through. Darn it all!

I SAID- I am obviously going to the wrong garage sales. You did good, girl...you dun good! I love that cast iron piece you found.

I have a lot of those molds. I have collected them for years. I have many of the smaller cookie molds too...which make great paper molds for pulverized paper too. They make great gift tags.

Lovely post-I think you found some wonderful bargains! hugs- Diana

This is why I don't go to yard sales. I've worked hard to downsize and I know I'd find too many goodies that would undermine all my efforts. That said, I'm totally jealous of your bargains! lol

What wonderful finds!

I have one of those shortbread pans that I bought on eBay after I saw someone's photos too. I think it was only $15 but $2 is fantastic! I have a little trouble getting the shortbread to release though. Let me know if you find any tips regarding that.

I also love the cast iron pot!

Wow, great finds! I love the mirror!!!!!

I have a shortbread mold similar to yours. In fact, I have a collection of them, since they were offered by Pampered Chef yearly as part of their specials. I have made shortbread in them, but mostly I use them to make beeswax ornaments. They are beautiful and unique.

Happy autumn to you! Thanks for visiting Gracious Hospitality. I've been away from blogging for awhile, but I am trying to be more faithful now.
