Outdoor Wednesday ~ Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

And this green creature is beautiful to Jared.
He and Pop-Pop caught tadpoles this spring and put them into our little pond.
This little guy is the only one to survive.

Over in the meadow,
In the sand in the sun
Lived an old mother toadie
And her little toadie one
"Wink!" said the mother;
"I wink!" said the one,
So they winked and they blinked
In the sand in the sun

I liked this photo of bubbles created by the tiny pond fountain. Notice the little orange at the top/center... they are the goldfish getting bigger and bigger.

Lorraine, You are the only one I know who could make a toad photo so very lovely! I know Jared and Pop Pop are glad this little fella made it! Very cute indeed.

We don't have a pond, but have a frog that lives in a hole under our front sidewalk!!! I think they're cute, too...and I love to hear the tree frogs croaking at night!!! Beautiful pics, as always!!! Thanks for your comment about the tunnel...they ALWAYS remind me of my Dad!!!

Those guys have such fabulous colors. We had a frog family when we had our pond. They were hilarious and fun. So glad to see you enjoying yours. Jane F.

Loved the photos, LDH. Also, sang along with your song! I wouldn't say froggie is a "beauty" but I'd say he's pretty doggone cute. Susan

Love this guy and your photos do him quite a lot of justice. They are clear and beautiful. I like the bubbles too; they make for an interesting texture on the surface of the water.

He is a very handsome frog!
I like the bubbles, too.

I like this frog too!

As a home school momma I have found myself liking all kinds of creatures I never imagined I would ever get close to. One son used to carry snakes in his pocket. I never did get used to that, nor did I encourage it!

Have a Happy Day!

What wonderful photos of the frog you were able to capture! My mom sang that song to me when I was a child...what memories you just brought back to me...I have to look up all the lyrics to the song so I can sing them to my grandson. :-)

I'm not fond of froggies, but you've made this one quite lovely.

He may not be the most handsome guy I've ever seen but he sure is a beautiful shade of green. Great photos and the one of the bubbles is really cool.

I don't see many frogs here, though they are around. My friends had pet ones.

A wonderful post, it brought back many memories of my boys when they were young and reading that very quote. Thank you for reminding me and have a wonderful weekend.

Oh how cute ! We used to have 4 frogs, they lived in one of our ponds. They used to be so much fun to watch. But they used to come out of the pond and wander around ,which probably led to their demise...sigh
Oh well .....,
Enjoy your weekend ~

Frogs are always so much fun to watch in our ponds but you're right in that they wander or visiting wildlife find them tasty.
Thanks for sharing your cute fellow.
