Sepia Scenes ~ Patio

A view of our patio at the back of the house, surrounded by a boxwood hedge.
These bushes were tiny little globes when we first planted them.
I trim them back each year but like to keep them on the high side
for privacy.
For the past five or so years, we have needed to treat them
for boxwood leaf miners, which have the potential to destroy them all.
We lost one bush before we realized the problem, but the others have
grown in and the missing one is no longer noticeable.

Here is a good photo of how the damaged leaves look from the leaf miner.

What a gorgeous porch. Was the lattice always there or did you add it?

I bought three boxwood hedge plants years ago and I love how low maintenance these bushes are! Mine is still very small and I haven't trimmed them yet. Maybe I should to encourage growth?? I just love the evergreen color year round from them.

Have a great Wednesday!

That is a beautiful addition to the patio. The look is so nice with a hedge as a border than the usual and boring fences. It is a classic style even on a modern house, it feels like the past in sepia. Nice!

What a nice porch. I wish we has something around our yard for more privacy. Ours is wide open.

Your porch looks like a great place to enjoy a lemonade at the end of the day! Everything looks so different without all the snow you featured during the winter months!

Your back porch is gorgeous! I'll bet you really enjoy relaxing there. Wish I had a covered porch. I'm working on some ideas to do just that, but it would be hard to tie in to the back of our home.

That is such a cozy place, what a blessing that only one shrub was lost. That would be hard to start over and wait for something to grow again, to have such a private setting.
