Show and Tell Friday ~ My Dear Mother Print

Softly muted pink and lavender flowers and a poem of love to Mother.
This was a gift from my mom to her mother in 1945.

I never met my grandmother.
She passed away at the age of 44 leaving 11 children,
most of whom were still in their elementary and teen years.
The adult children helped raise their younger siblings.
My mom was third oldest.

Oh, LDH, how tragic your Gram left this world so young and with 11 children. Oh my gosh. That must have been such a hard time for your family. Lovely poem. Sincerely, Susan

What a treasure to have that gift from your mom to her mom! Your Grandmother's dress looks almost exactly like one my Grandmother is wearing in her wedding photo! They were 'stylin' ladies!

How lovely this momento and your Grandmother was a stunner! I wish more women wore hats. I love them and it seems that if you wear one these days people seem it odd.

Giving away my age here I remember those whicker trollys on the Boardwalk in Atlantic city. I wish I had riden in one when they were still used.

Your grandmother was very pretty, how sad that she had such a short life. That is a wonderful treasure that you have there.
