Sentimental Charm Bracelet

Did you have a charm bracelet when you were a young girl? They were very popular and a lovely way to mark important events and meaningful things in life.

I still have my charm bracelet and smile as I think of the occasion I received each charm and why it was special to me.

A pair of scissors because I studied Early Childhood Education in college.
A few charms from zoo's we have visited together and will our niece and nephew.
Then there were to milestones and special occasions like graduation, engagement, and wedding
A tiny high school ring, a college pendant.
The crutch because I had two hip surgeries and spend a considerable amount of time using crutches.
The Canadian Maple leaf and disk were acquired during a visit to the country of our northern neighbors.
The Great Blue Whale from the Smithsonian Institute in DC because it was one of our favorite places to visit
Ohio charm is special because it is where we moved when first married and where our first child was born
New Jersey charm because it is my home state. I ♥ (southern) NJ

and then there is this special pendant.
Two cuties I have always held close to my heart. My first niece and nephew.
I was 14 when Chrissy was born and 15 when Tommy was born.
Now all grown up with precious children of their own!

Chrissy and her sweet family now!

Tom and his dear wife and little girl now!
Another baby girl was added to the family in December.

Tommy meeting his first child for the first time after arriving home
from his second tour in Iraq

Your charm bracelet is so pretty and interesting. Your photos are always nice, and sharp, could you please leave a comment on my blog and tell me what camera you use? I am shopping for a new one and currently thinking of a Nikon coolpix 10MP. Do you know anything about that model? Thanks.

That's a great charm bracelet, so often now they are bought with the charms and don't have the same meaning. Love the photos of then and now so precious.

What a wonderful way to keep memories of places and events on a bracelet. I love the idea! And the pictures of then and now... see how everyone has grown up and how fast time just swooped by? It's always good to look back at how things were and smile back.

Thanks for sharing your pretty charm bracelet. I have always had a thing for charm bracelets and have one that was started in the early 60's, and have not worn for years (don't know why), and a couple I made (one not finished).
What great looking families. Tell your nephew "thank you" for what he does.
Enjoy your weekend.

Great charm bracelet. My mother gave me one years ago and it has 3 measly little charms on it. For some reason she stopped buying them for me after 3 and I never did buy any on my own.
