Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Late Afternoon Light

A cozy moment... a fleeting moment. The time of day when the room is full of streaming side lighting... then suddenly someone remarks,
"Why is it so dark in here?"
Playful patterns filter through the lace curtains.
Someone kindly suggested in a comment that a Shadow Shot should tell a story. The above pic says a lot about my day... the busyness and responsibilities of the day are finished and it is quiet, a wind down time as I transition into a relaxed dinnertime and evening (at least in the shorter days of winter).
The little girl I babysit has been picked up and just her toys and snack need to be cleared.
The soft, natural light is just enough before the light switch will be turned on and the ambiance gone.
More Shadow Shot Sunday can be found over at Hey Harriet.

What lovely pictures. The little one's dish and cup conjure up a little story of their own.

Hi Lorraine, You have captured my favorite time of day and I love the pattern the lace curtains create. The little leftover treat brings to mind a brighter and busier time of day. You simply amaze me with your creativity and talent.

You caught this perfectly....such a tranquil time of day that you wish would stay longer. About the Reader's Digest article...well, its the issue just out so I was sure they wouldn't have the article about the chaplain online yet...thats why no link. But~~I made two of your Folded German paper stars....hurray for me & hubby! When I make a couple more I'll post a picture if my pc will let me. Thank you for the tutorial. I got off to a wrong start in the first 4 steps...but we got the hang of it after I realized what I did wrong. Now I'm a proud and happy camper...smile. Thanks to you!

The first shot is marvelous! Lace shadows behind solid lamp shadow, and the light playing all over your hutch. Lovely!

Oh oh. Who said the shadow shots are supposed to tell a story?? I hope I don't get in trouble for not being deep enough. Yikes!
Your shots are very nice...and with a story too! Happy Valentine's Day and SSS too.

You captured that mood perfectly, and I LOL at the comment out of the blue... I'm sure I know what said it! The shot of the little girl's bowl and cup was precious. Thanks for sharing.
