Outdoor Wednesday ~ Old Firehouse

Our town offered a free rabies clinic for pets a few weeks ago at the Firehouse. I had never been around back of the huge building in all of the 26 years we have lived here. To my surprise, I noticed this old firehouse. I didn't have my camera at the time (just a rather frightened schnauzer as he eyed LOTS of other uneasy dogs). A return trip would be perfect for Outdoor Wednesday as well as continue to add family history to this blog for my kids and grandchildren.
The following is copied from a pamphlet called Yesterdays published by the Bicentennial Committee of Evesham Township © The Researchers 1976. Click on photo to enlarge for easier reading.

Hope Raider is ok after that experience?
The fire station is wonderful, it's grand that it has been so well looked after & is still in use today.

Thank you for sharing the historic firehouse! I love old buildings and learning about their history. I also think it is great that your town offered free rabies shots. Hopefully lots of pet owners took advantage of it.

I just love old buildings/homes ~ especially when they have been well taken care of like this old Firehouse! I do wish more towns/cities would preserve their past this way!
Blessings!

What a cool looking building and they have kept it so well maintained. It's too bad more of the older buildings haven't been kept up like this one

That's especially interesting for me, as my husband spent 33-1/2 years in the Houston Fire Department before retiring in 2008. Love the old firehouse.
