a little quilling and a little baking...

for Valentine's Day!
I made some very sweet paper quilled heart pendants...
Inspired by a post on all things paper, Ann Martin has, along with her many beautiful creations, a very clear tutorial for learning this craft.

After making and shaping the coils, they are glued and allowed to dry.
Way back in the mid-70's my mother-in-law and I made many paper quilling projects together. We embellished each others wedding invitations and had them matted and framed.
My mom asked me to embellish her marriage certificate

she displayed it in her home for years

The fruit above and the flowers below are a few of the pieces I saved in a little container that my mother-in-law and I made together many years ago.
...then I baked... and Jared ate... more than any (really skinny) 12 year old boy should be able to.
but I saved one for You!
Wishing you all a very happy Valentine's Day!

We love because he first loved us

I love paper crafts. I have seen quilling before but am hesitant to try due to lack of free time. I hate starting projects and not finishing them. The cookies look scrumptious.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Your heart pendants turned out beautifully! I'm thrilled you gave them a try. Thanks so much for sharing the results and for the link to my blog. And how special that you saved the pretty quilling you and your mother-in-law made together years ago - very fun to see. Such pretty cookies too - Happy Valentine's Day!

The quilling is just beautiful! I enjoy your blog- you have a beautiful family and I know they treasure you and all the special ways you make things in their lives special.

But most of all for your heart for God, your faithfulness to him--it all shows in how you love them.:)

As always, everything you do is beautiful, the quilling is so pretty--even while it is drying, you made it pretty and photogenic! The cookies look so good,I could taste them just from looking at them! So thankful that a huge prayer has been answered for you. I know that waiting, praying, and trusting place where there does not seem to be any progress or answer in sight, but still, we have hope because we know who we have hope in. I've noticed that often, a prayer was answered sooner than I thought it would be--sometimes I've thought things would never change, that everything looked like it was going to be the same (bad) 'forever'... 'forever' didn't turn out to last that long! ReJoycing with you in your answered prayer!
