Show and Tell Friday ~ Dutch Scene

This picture belonged to my husbands granfather. When he passed away in 1963 it was brought to my in laws home where it hung in their family room. My husband received it in 2001 and it now hangs in our family room.

It is large and appears much brighter in photographs than in actual life. The frame is ornate and beautiful. We originally thought it was German but with the windmill in the background it is obviously Dutch. My husband vaguely remembers mention that there was a summer mate to this winter scene but never saw it.

A Sweet and Thoughtful Gift

I want to share (long overdue) this pretty little journal I received from a sweet blogging friend, Eileen from Star's Fault. She had a give-away and then decided to make something special for all those who did not win the give-away. Her art is soft, gentle and lovely with much attention to detail. The inside contains vintage ledger pages for thoughts and memories along with snippets of lace, fabric and other sweet dainties.

Her thoughtfulness is is heartwarming!

Outside My Window... is a Eastern Redbud ready to burst into bloom.
I am thinking... I wish I could catch up on so many areas that I have fallen behind on.
I am thankful for... more than I can list
From the learning rooms... how to set up shop on Etsy
From the kitchen... slice of wheat toast with orange marmalade, banana & Strawberries
I am wearing... my most comfy pants and a top with a necklace... always a necklace :)
I am creating... Beanies, beanies and more beanies!
I am going... to get ready for the little E to come for the day.
I am reading... Streams in the Desert, crochet patterns
I am hoping... for my husbands complete return to health and answered prayer
I am hearing... the hum of the computer and movement up-stairs as Abbey gets ready for school.
Around the house... a rainy day so indoor activity and recouping from the weekend.
