Oh, what I would do to have

the kind of faith it takes

to climb out of this boat I'm in

Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone

Into the realm of the unknown

Where Jesus is,

And he's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name

and they laugh at me

Reminding me of all the times

I've tried before and failed

The waves they keep on telling me

time and time again

"Boy, you'll never win,

you'll never win.

"But the voice of truth tells me a different story

the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"

and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh, what I would do

to have the kind of strength it takes

To stand before a giant

with just a sling and a stone

Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors

shaking in their armor

Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name

and he laughs at me

Reminding me of all the times

I've tried before and failed

The giant keeps on telling me

time and time again

"Boy you'll never win,

you'll never win.

"But the voice of truth

tells me a different story

the voice of truth

says "do not be afraid!"

and the voice of truth

says "this is for my glory"

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe

the voice of truth

But the stone was just the right size

to put the giant on the ground

and the waves they don't seem so high

from on top of them looking down

I will soar with the wings of eagles

when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus

singing over me

But the voice of truth

tells me a different story

The voice of truth says do not be afraid

And the voice of truth

says this is for my glory

Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)

I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)

I will choose to listen and believe

the voice of truth

I will listen and believe

I will listen and believe

the voice of truth

I will listen and believe

'Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth

And I will listen to you.. oh you are

Show and Tell Friday ~ Antique Plate

This plate belonged to my husbands parents. I know very little about it or how they acquired it. The back has a stamp that reads MIGNON Z.S. & C BAVARIA. Wish I knew more about it and its origins. Visit Kelli for more Show and Tell Friday

Show and Tell
Accomplished: Thirteen new Cushion/Pillows (and a table topper) ... just have to hand stitch them closed...
and he is thinking I made all of these just for him!

The End Result

See how this sewing machine is tucked way back in the foyer closet right there under the coats and jackets with the umbrellas, tool box and tripods....
...and what does, this, plus...
this...
produce in me? Well, maybe not tears...

But I would much rather be in the kitchen baking or cooking, in the garden weeding or digging, even cleaning is a preference... perhaps blogging... but alas... covering pillows and cushions for the porch is on my agenda this afternood. I know this is a relatively simple project and I can fudge my way through it, but sewing is just not my cup of tea. BUT... I know I will enjoy all the happy times we spend on the porch, swing, chatting, laughing, watching hummingbirds, people going by and pretty skys! And that makes me ...

Be Thou My Vision
sung by Michael Ball (A Hymn with Irish Roots)
video

Be Thou My Vision
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
Dallan Forgaill (translated from the Irish byMary E. Byrne, Versified by Eleanor H. Hull)
" Be Thou My Vision" is a hymn derived from an 8th century Irish folk song. It expresses a desire for God’s hand in our lives and a longing to be in His presence. The first words are credited to Dallan Forgaill in a work entitled, Rob tu mo bhoile, a Comdi cride. Mary Bryne, in Dublin, Ireland, first translated the entire Irish folk song into English in 1905. Eleanor H. Hull converted the lyrics to "Be Thou My Vision" into verse in 1905.
The folk song got its start in Ireland around 433 AD, when on the night before Easter; St. Patrick defied a royal decree by lighting candles. High King Logaire of Tara had traditionally lit a fire beginning a pagan spring festival. It was his order that no one could light a fire before him on this night. When Logaire learned of St. Patrick’s arrogance, he was so impressed he let him continue services.

Color Week Sunday ~ RAINBOW

:)

From two little ones who wanted me to add their colorful pictures... Color
by Christina Rossetti

What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain's brink.
What is red? a poppy's red
In its barley bed.
What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro'.
What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.
What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and ripe and mellow.
What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.
What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.
What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an orange!
