Puttering in my home, I heard an eerie high-pitched drone growing louder and louder. The noise drew me outside. Filling all of the high branches of the trees were hundreds of squawking black birds. As I rounded the corner of the house they suddenly flew off. All of the clamoring sound was gone... that fast!
Then my eye caught the beautiful jewel-tone colors of the hydrangea bushes. The cooler days turned the fading bloom colors into vivid shades of autumn. I gathered three huge vase-fulls of these giant flowers and plan on enjoying them through the coming winter days.
