With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart: Blown Away

Blown Away

It was mostly sunny when we left the house but as we drove just the few miles the sky grew darker. Not to worry. All the news reports said slight chance of rain early, then pleasant cooler weather.

So we set-up.

It began as a soft mist. Then drizzle. Up went the plastic drop cloth. Real rain now.
Maybe, it would stop at this.

But it didn't.

It was becoming a soggy mess. Wetness creeping along the tablecloths, water drenching all of the items we had stowed out-of-sight under the tables were now wet from water running down the curb and drips of water puddling on and around the crocheted beanies I had worked so long on.
But even with our dampened spirits and chilly bones, we would have persevered longer had not a gust of wind attempted to blow away our canopy. Abbey and a passer-by caught the legs of the canopy in mid air.

Abbey and I were done.
Even if the rain stopped, everything was damp or completely wet.
My ever optimistic husband would have stayed.
He was out-voted.
And now he's napping
and
the sun is shining.

Oh no! I hope your lovely creations didn't get ruined? How discouraging to go to all that work and set everything up to have such a downpour and wind! And then to get home and have the sun come out!
And now, all I can think of is the song,"The sun will come out ~ Tomorrow!"
