Blueberry Boy Bait

It's Blueberry pickin' time of year again and because of all the rain that delayed picking, the berries are extra large! This is one of the very first recipes I made as a new bride (thirty-three years ago) and it has been a favorite we never grow tired of. I have substituted blackberries and raspberries for an equally delicious cake perfect for breakfast or desert. ummm... imagine a large dollop of sweet whipped cream atop this piece :)

Look at these beautiful blues...
simple ingredients...
Sugar and cinnamon topping ready...
(I just had to get a picture of the sugar in motion...)
lots of sugar and butter ~ no wonder it's so yummy!
Beat for three minutes...
Dot the top with berries ~ I added about 1 1/2 cups
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar... and bake!
Blueberry Boy Bait
2 cups Pillsbury's Best All Purpose Flour
1 1//2 cups sugar
2 t baking powder
1 t salt
2/3 c butter or margarine, softened
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup blueberries, frozen, fresh
1/4 c sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
Oven 350 13 x 9 pan
In large mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, milk and eggs. Blend at low speed until dry ingredients are moistened; beat at medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour into
greased and floured 13 x 9 pan. Arrange blueberries on top.
Combine sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the top. Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center. Cut in squares and serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
umm... this is nice!
here we are just married... well early married just after our twin babies were born and brought our quiver to three.
Happy Summer!

Yum! I bought the best tasting blueberries I think that I ever put in my mouth last weekend! I have been eating them like candy this week- so good. Now I need some more to make this great looking recipe!:)

And your tray of measured ingredients took me waaayy back to my 4-H days when we had to give cooking demonstrations. Good times:)

And I love the picture of you and your hubby. You haven't changed much- still lovely!

Thanks for the great post:)
