Show and Tell Friday

This little Nipper dog belonged to my husband's mother. She worked 40 years for RCA from the mid 1940's until her retirement in the 1980's.
Here are a few pictures I found on the net and links to where I found them:
The above picture was taken from the parking lot.
Click here for more Information regarding RCA History. Above is a picture of RCA Building 17 in Camden NJ which was converted to luxury apartments in 2003, and is one of the few remaining buildings that once housed the vast RCA Victor Complex.

This stained glass remains illuminated atop the "Nipper Tower" in the former Building 17. This photograph was taken from the inside of the "Nipper Tower"

As were many of this era, my mother-in-law was totally fascinated by the NASA Space Program and collected these patches. Here is a link to an article from Wikipedia on the Apollo Program.

I remember that doggie!!! Yes indeed. What a wonderful family heirloom. Seriously, this is considered a part of the American dream, if you ask me. Nipper the dog brought so much enjoyment to the USA!

Excellent show n tell. Mine's posted, I do hope you can stop by and visit with me sometime today. Happy Friday.

How sweet you have some keepsakes from where she worked and things she loved.

WOW! Those patches are an excellant collectible!

The Nipper dog is too cute! It's sad that kids today don't even know what a turntable is. My son's IPOD holds like a bajillion songs and fits in the palm of his hand! I'll bet RCA didn't see THAT coming!

What a fantastic S&T. I enjoyed it! While growing up my parents had an old console stereo...it's an RCA and it is still in working order...even the turntable still spins, but we can 't find needles for it anymore. It's still in it's same location too. The livingroom. :0)
