First Project of the New Year ~ Scherenschnitte/Papercutting

Today I was able to work on a project that has been on my list for a long time. I made a few Scherenschnitte/papercuttings many years ago and liked the look. So, here is what I accomplished the last two days. As you can see, they are simple patterns. In the past, I worked with scissors, but I tried my hand using an X-acto knife for these cuts.

For inspiration and to see some beautiful work, check out the following:

Here is an instructional video I found:

Let me know if you, too, enjoy this craft.

Hello!

Thanks for visiting the Greenhouse and for your sweet comment! I do like to paint, but I haven't done any for a long time ~ I'd like to really learn how to watercolor sometime. I really like your scherenschnitte! Is it a German art? My family is German; and I think the Lady Farmer has done something like that a while back. Very pretty!

Thanks for the interesting comment on my blog. I have never tried Scherenschnitte, but I have been thinking about it. Do you know if it is possible to get free patterns, and if so, where?
Thanks!
